Is Unconditional Love and Acceptance Something God Approves Of?

My goal is to write about certain subjects to pique interest and hopefully help to connect some dots.

The concept of unconditional love and acceptance is used by most within the false church system today, yet it is not found anywhere in the Hebrew scriptures.

Shouldn't love be about a condition to being loved and accepted the same way God does with us.

Throughout the Jewish Bible, God had love for His people, but acceptance was based on the condition of their obedience to Him.

Love Principles Towards God

Somehow the rules have changed with the notion we are to show unconditional love and acceptance to others. What this really means is to tolerate, accept and justify sinful behaviours of others. The teachings within the religious systems have rejected the standard of God's love for a politically correct version.

To unconditionally love someone who willful goes against God's standards is rejecting Him also.

Genuine love and acceptance towards others should come from applying the following principles in our own lives.

  • Repentance
  • Personal accountability
  • The concept of what sin is.
  • God's standard of love by His example put into practice.

Compromised Love

Compromise has conditioned the religious masses today. Many have been led astray by politically correct false teachings and ideologies concerning what love is.

It is common to be called ‘self-righteous’ for calling out someone for going against God's standards because it is not showing unconditional love towards them. This behaviour is really meant to muzzle and turn a blind eye to sin. Those who claim to worship God by His standards, but don't want to be held accountable for them is self-destructive.

Embracing people with open arms when they have no intention of changing is the false unconditional love and acceptance that men preach from their pulpits today. That is why the religious systems are crumbling today because their foundation is of their own making.

The unconditional love and acceptance comes from man, not God. God requires us to repent and walk in obedience because that is how we show love towards Him. What follows is that if we love God the way He wants us too, we can love others in similar fashion.

Unconditional Love = Straying From God's Ways

A lot of people don't realize that the saying, 'love the sinner, hate the sin' is the typical cliché phrase to justify bad behaviour. It is not found in the Hebrew bible.

Can fallible man really separate sin from the sinner?

We can't, it requires the sinner to make the change.

If the sinner changes, then God accepts him. In likewise fashion, we should do the same. The standard God loves us is the example for us to follow. To deviate from that deviates from Him.

The definition of sin in Hebrew is 'chattat,' meaning to go astray from God's ways.

To justify behaviour that strays from God's ways by tolerating and compromising to the ways of the world by appealing to 'unconditional love and acceptance' is really an affront to God.

Do you believe that unconditional love is biblical?
