Is Unconditional Acceptance and Unconditional Love Biblical?

The terms unconditional love and unconditional acceptance are the flags that are raised high in the churches today. According to Scripture, there is only one condition to being loved and accepted (God's love, not ours) by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Throughout the Old Testament, God had love for His people, but acceptance was based on the condition of their obedience to Him; today, it is by what Jesus Christ did on the cross for our sins.

A genuinely saved person requires the power of the Holy Spirit to change them into a new creation. You are no longer a fornicator, murderer, homosexual, adulterer, etc... but a follower of Jesus Christ. We are no longer enslaved by our sin nature; the above label examples are shed by His grace.

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. - Revelation 22:17

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. - John 14:6

It is false to believe that Jesus Christ will accept every behaviour that we exhibit. The behaviours that are exhibited portray the standards by which we uphold. Either good fruit, or thorns and thistles are reaped by the choices we make.

For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. - Romans 5:17

Does Jesus Christ love everybody without judgement?

“You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell? - Matthew 23:33

Somehow, the rules have changed; if we show unconditional love, it means to tolerate, accept, or justify sinful behaviour, and this somehow equates to sitting with Jesus Christ. The teachings in the church today have rejected what is written in Scripture for subjective reasoning and "politically correct" grace.

Unconditional acceptance and love for the sin of the sinner, undermines true Biblical doctrine on many accounts:

• Personal accountability
• The concept of what sin is.
• The necessity of being born again; a new creation.
• The wrath of God.
• Atonement for sin.
• God's final judgement; hell.
• Faith
• Biblical rule, standard, and practice.

What the Bible defines as sin is simply disobedience and rebellion against God. A lack of spiritual discernment is the result and condition the church is in today, and many are being led astray by politically correct false teachings of the gospel.

You may be called a Pharisee or self-righteous for calling sin for what it is, but if you are truly saying what the Word says, then you are the facilitator of the evidence of the standards in the Bible, which are the words of God. If you truly love the body of Christ, do not stand by idly while serious sin is being committed. Without exposing sin, the effects will ultimately domino, causing great collateral damage to His body.

If confrontations were carried out and there was an unwillingness to repent, a public rebuke and discharge would be in order according to Biblical protocol. It is not out of malicious intent, but for the love and welfare of the church body.

Unfortunately, many people make the wrong distinctions on what the true terms of Christ's love and acceptance are.

Scripture judges what sin is, but using Scripture to justify our own sin, or those of others, is not what Jesus Christ is about, nor is it the behaviour of His true followers.

When the church embraces the sinner with open arms, and there the sinner remains unchanged, the power of Jesus Christ is negated.

There is a distinction between the true love of Jesus Christ and the false one of "unconditional love" and "acceptance" that religious man has made up for themselves.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. - Romans 10:17

Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. - John 20:30-31

Trusting and accepting the love of Jesus Christ is believing that He is the Son of God and allowing Him to change you by His grace. The "unconditional love" and "acceptance" from man does not save. It is only by the true genuine grace of Jesus Christ, which is distinctly different from man's own version.

We are saved when we simply believe, trust, and accept that Jesus Christ is truly the Son of God and our Savior from the consequence of our sinful nature, with the power to make us into a new creation. Walking out true faith in Him is genuine salvation.

By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. - 1 John 2:3
